A quiet place to sit, feel the heat, and take some time for yourself

The Hide was designed and built by JM Bower in Shropshire — brothers Joe and Matt, whose business is rooted in responsible forestry and a genuine pride in showing off British timber. The exterior is red cedar, felled by Matt himself. Inside, thermo ash and thermo poplar complete the aesthetic: considered materials, quietly chosen.

A panoramic window frames the Essex countryside — spring green, autumn amber, summer sunsets, the stripped-back clarity of winter — all of it watched from the bench with the stove running between 85 and 95 degrees. The Hide holds up to ten. Community sessions cap at eight, private hire opens to the full ten. Either way, there's room to stretch out and actually relax.
